Healthy Pet Clinic goes past 1,000 pet served in last Clinic of 2012
(Syracuse) - The Healthy Pet Clinic organized by the Shamrock Animal Fund and the CNY Animal Welfare coalition served its 1,000 pet during the November 11th Clinic at St. Lucy's Church on Syracuse's near west side.
This was the last Clinic of 2012. Volunteer staff, veterinarians and veterinary technicians served a record 166 animals. The official hours were 1:00 to 4:00 pm, but pet owners were lining up by 10:30 am for a chance to have their dog or cat examined, vaccinated and treated for any other ailments that the veterinarians could handle on the spot.
Shufronia Love of Syracuse was the owner of the 1,000th pet served. She appreciated the designation and praised the volunteer effort for providing a service for her two cats that she could not otherwise afford.
Organizers are discussing a return in the spring to Assumption Church on Syracuse's north side. If the Clinics continue they would be held in April, May and June.
