A not for profit fund in Central New York providing financial assistance for veterinary costs for animals in need.
ITHACA -- In the shadow of the towering Cornell University Animal Hospital the white coat of an eight year old American Eskimo dog stands out as she wanders through the summer grass. Curiosity has Pookie sniffing every corner, every inch. She is active and engaged. Her ailments are no longer obvious.
Moments later a breeze blows through pine trees surrounding a memorial park bench where Colleen Boord cradles her beloved Pookie and recalls the difficult nine months prior. "I'm so glad for the Shamrock Animal Fund," said Colleen Boord. "If it wasn't for the Shamrock Animal Fund, I wouldn't have been able to come down here and get her taken care of because I didn't have the money." read more »

The talented staff of the Central New York Magazine assembled a wonderful article about the work being done at the Cornell Veterinary Hospital in Ithaca. The cover features a dog with an ice pack on his head under the headline "Fido's Really Sick: Cornell's Noah's Ark for Animals". It has been heartwarming to continue to receive donations to The Shamrock Animal Fund even several weeks after our Shamrock's Celebration 2010 on March 20th. The donations are certainly welcome and emphasize an important point.
The fundraising efforts for The Shamrock Animal Fund are ongoing. Any time of year is the right time to send a donation to benefit the veterinary care of animals in need. Some people make such donations in the name of a pet that is or was close to them. Others send donations to show support for the effort being put forth to benefit animals.
